In 2009, composer, conductor and musicologist Ronald de Roeck obtained the grade of doctor in musicology at the Universitat Autònoma in Barcelona with his thesis "La producció de Victor Legley" [The works of Victor Legley]. De Roeck had some composition lessons with Legley in 1981 and collaborated with Walter Legley, the composer's son, when preparing his thesis.
In 2010, De Roeck published a large article on La cathédrale d'acier [The steel cathedral].[1]
