History
- Opera on a libretto by Herman Closson. Anton van de Velde translated the opera into Dutch.[2]
- Legley worked on his opera from 1959 to September 1963.
- The beginning of the fourth act was reused by Legley as a jingle for the Belgian radio.[3]
- The first performance (in Dutch) took place on 10 December 1966 in the Royal Flemish Opera in Antwerp.[2][4]
