2 Alice Nahon songs
From KCB Library Wiki
Bidden is zichzelf vergeten om te denken aan een ander[1] (Alice Nahon)
Opus 103
History
- Legley chose two famous poems by Alice Nahon, Schaduw and Avondliedeken, for this opus.
- Legley completed the songs at the end of August 1984. He considered the second song as the successor to his youth composition on the same text from 1933.
- The songs were first performed by Ria Bollen and Jozef De Beenhouwer during a recording for the Belgian radio channel BRT 3 in 1985 or 1986, in a version for alto and piano.[2]

- ↑ On a photocopy of his autograph, however, Legley wrote down: 1° lied te laag voor sopraan [First song too low for soprano].
- ↑ Autograph: 1 toon lager [1 tone lower]. BV-03-4092 contains a version of the song transposed by Jozef De Beenhouwer (6 August 1985).
