History
- Legley composed his last string quartet at the request of the String Quartet Eugène Ysaye[1] and completed it on 14 August 1990 (see below for details).[2]
- On 12 November 1990, at the opening concert of the National Music Competition of the Gemeentekrediet, the quartet was performed for the first time by the String Quartet Eugène Ysaye[3] in the city theatre of Kortrijk.[1]
