History

  • Legley completed this song cycle on texts by René Ménard on 28[1] January 1950 in Woluwe.
  • The earliest documented performance took place on 16 March 1952 in the Gran Casino del Foment in Terrassa. The performers were the Quatuor féminin de Paris[2] and the pianist Teresa Balcells.[3]
