- Legley completed this nonet on 15 November 1948 in Brussels.
- The first performance took place in the concert series Concerts de midi - Middagconcerten in Brussels, and was conducted by Norbert Grimberghs[1], possibly on 29 March 1949, the day on which Legley dedicated the work to Norbert Grimberghs.[2]
