History
- According to the first edition, Legley composed his second string quartet in 1947.
- The first performance was played at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam by the Amsterdam Quartet in June 1950.[1]
- Carine Tessely made an extensive analysis of this work in her thesis.[2]
