- Legley composed this sonata in Bormes and Sint-Pieters-Woluwe during the months August and September 1953.
- Presumably, this work was first performed on 14 January 1954 in the studio of the sculptor René Cliquet in Brussels by André Marchal and Simone Biron.[2]
