History
- In 1951 Legley completed the first version of this song cycle on texts by Kijo Murakami. A second version, mentioned in the autograph of the final version[1], could not be found. The finale version was completed by Legley on Christmas Eve 1975.
- The first or the second version was performed on 4 November 1952 in L'Atelier in Brussels by Reine Aubier and Paulette Stevens.[2]
