History
- Legley completed this composition on 10 March 1941 in Brussels.[2]
- This string quartet was first heard on the radio on 25 February 1942.[3]
- On 5 February 1943, the work was performed for the first time during a concert in the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels by the Carlo Van Neste Quartet.[4]
