Legley composed this work from August till 31 December 1952 in Bormes and Woluwe.^[1]
The first performance was played on 19 May 1954 in the Museum for Antique Arts in Brussels by the NIR Chamber orchestra directed by Georges Béthume.^[2]^[3]

↑ Tessely (p.45) writes (probably mistakenly) Maastricht, o.l.v. André Rieu, the performance with Rieu took place on 18 July 1954. See also De Roeck, p.329.
↑ 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, timpani and strings.
↑ CeBeDeM gives 16'. Legley however, wrote down the lengths of each movement in his autograph, the addition of all these lengths gives 19'20".
