History

  • Radio play based on The Era of Harmony by Roger Richard. Gaston Derycke adapted the text.[2]
  • On 14 January 1949, the work was entered in the catalogue of the NIR under the shelf number SPELEN 149.
  • The play was broadcast in the evening of 25 January 1949 by the N.I.R./the B.R.N.O. Frans Roggen was responsible for the direction.[3][4]
  • The story was announced in the press thus:
[...] A new disease has broken out, which soon plagues the whole of mankind. In a very short time, almost every person will fall victim to a speechlessness against which medical science is powerless.
In all countries, the spoken language must finally be replaced by a musical language that is infinitely more varied and full of expression; at least that is what people think. But after three centuries of musical language, a young man in love suddenly finds speech again. [...][3]
