*Legley composed this overture for a comedy by [https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlo_Goldoni Carlo Goldoni] at the request of Edgar Doneux, who was urgently in need of an overture for a concert he was conducting in Paris five or six days later.<ref>[[De Roeck/en|De Roeck]], p.377.</ref>
*The first performance was played on 5 December 1958<ref>This date is mentioned in an overview of the loans of orchestral materials made by CeBeDeM for the year 1958 (present in the Legley archives of the '''Royal Conservatory Brussels''', without shelf number).</ref> in Paris by the chamber orchestra of the NIR conducted by Edgard Doneux.<ref>CeBeDeM - lijst werken: ''LIJST VAN DE WERKEN VAN VIC LEGLEY 22.6.1976'', p.2.
