History
- Legley composed this work in Februari 1956 in Woluwe.
- With this work, Legley participated to the first edition of the Wieniawski competition for composers in Warsaw, that took place between 16 and 19 April 1956. Legley was awarded the second prize (the first prize was not awarded). The jury members were Grażyna Bacewicz, Pál Kadosa, Witold Lutosławski, Kazimierz Sikorski, Michael Tippett and Tadeusz Wroński.[1]
- In the context of the named competition, the burlesque was first performed on 19 June 1956 in Warsaw by violinist Henryk Palulis and pianist Sergiusz Nadgryzowski.[2][3]
